Like every school going kid I too had a  desire to sleep for long on Sundays. But this desire of mine was shattered as a burdened, painful and melancholic old voice used to reach my ears early in the morning which was enough to wake me up. The voice was of no one other than of my old washer man. I asked my mother, ' Can't he come a little bit late? ' She said, ' its not possible as he has to deliver clothes at many places'. As I grew up  I realised it was not only the heap of clothes which made his voice burdened, but the death of his only young daughter due to survical Cancer made his voice melancholic and the malfunctioning of his kidneys made his situation more miserable.Above all he had to look after his grandson who was born from his daughter. Willingly or unwillingly I got the habit of waking up early even on Sunday Mornings.

Gradually his situation deteriorated. The doctors suggested him to go for dialysis but his financial situation was not good enough to get it done at a Private Hospital. We made arrangements to get him shifted to PMCH ( Patna Medical College Hospital). He eventually died during the mid way. What was his fault? Poverty ? Certainly Yes. At almost the same time the then Prime Minister of our country Mr. A.B. Vajpayee underwent through  a knee surgery in one of the costliest hospitals of our country Breach Candy Hospital. An Indian Born Hip Surgeon from US Dr,Chittranajan Ranawat was called to do his surgery. Crores of money were spent just to make sure that our beloved PM's knees get fine. And the saga further continued with Mrs. Sonia Gandhi getting her treatment for Cancer done in US, Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh getting his treatment done in one of the liver speciality hospitals in Chennai and last not the least MP Shatrughan Sinha spending an entire month in one of the hospitals in Mumbai just for the sake of regular of observation. In all the above mentioned cases the expenses were undertaken by the government.

I have no objections if these people get the best possible medical treatment, but my question is from the government health system is why can't a common man gets the same treatment ? Why can't we get proper treatment at state run hospitals? Why does a citizen prefers a Private Hospital ahead of Government Hospitals. AIIMS one of the best state owned hospitals in India. If you want to get treated there you have to go through an everlasting queue. You have to look for sifarish from a neta or a minister to get your treatment done at a quicker pace than normal. Its very disappointing to know that in TMH if you are looking for cancer treatment for free you have to wait for months over there or in other words you have to wait for the patient to die. But if you have some lakhs to spend things could become much easier for you. In India health and medical care synonyms with hassles. Our netas talk about socialism? Why no socialism in our health system? Does socialism   only stands in India with reservations in  jobs and education based on caste and religious lines ?

One must say simply abusing the system is not going to help. But I would rather say there are certain ways which could help the poor people in getting proper medical treatment like providng health cards for a few hundred rupees for every citizen which could get more and more health facilities for citizens. Reducing the queues in hospitals by constructing more and more Government hospitals. Government should concentrate on constructing Speciality Hospitals. Doing these stuffs is not a rocket Science for our government. But either they are simply  not concerned for the health and welfare of a common man or they lack the will power hard to understand.

As I was going through various News Portals this morning I was shocked to see an article on Dainik Bhaskar's website where a father brutally killed his 22 Day old infant daughter. This is not the first case. In India this has been happening here since ages. The general perception is that mostly the psyche against female child is largely predominant in rural India where education is less which is not exactly true. The fact is the middle- class or Upper Middle Class urban population gets equally distressed, when a female child is born but little of intellect left in them saves the innocent souls from seeing the worst.

If you can't  believe me when you visit a family expecting a child just try to say, " I wish a girl child is born". You will get to see a weird smile at least if not a mouthful about how big burden a girl child is bla and bla from the Family members. Only this much of reaction is enough to vindicate my point. The entire Indian psyche is against the birth of a female child whether it is North, South, East or West. Not only that even after the birth of the female child the family members can be seen cribbing, ' I wish our first child was a boy'. You can even get to listen some interesting comparison like 'We are unfortunate to have 2 baby girls see Mr and Mrs XYZ have 2 baby boys'.. What is the mistake of the innocent soul still hard to understand?

The Pseudo Feminist society spent some crocodile tears when Aamir Khan hosted show discussed this topic on one of its episode. But the people lost interest gradually as these cases don't have much masala within themselves like a rape, molestation or dowry cases have. Even the Electronic media doesn't gives less coverage to these cases as it will not help them gain TRPs as a Madhumita Shukla or Fiza case can give. Even if such cases are coverred by the Print media we just ignore it after reading the heading and the focus again shifts to the Sports Page or to the Life Style Page. Its just another story for the same hypocrite youth generation who gets easily offended by Shiv Sena when they oppose Valentines Day or when Ram Sena does the so called moral Policing. Sheer logic of convenience isn't it ? If the activities of these organisations is an attack on an individual's Independence then female infanticide is an attack on right to survive of an individual. If molestation of women is heinous crime for Pseudo Feminists then female infanticide is a cold blooded murder of an innocent soul which is nothing more than a sin at least for me ? I have hardly in fact never seen any such Facebook status updates , Twitter tweets or blogs written on this issue. Are the social networking users of this country so insensitive or they are just interested in these masala stuffs.?
.
Sex Determination Tests has been banned by the Government Of India. But since we Indians posses a great knack of abusing the laws. This case is no exception. There are illegal sonography Centres in every city and town who still do these tests and abortions and get themselves involved in this sin leaving a great dark spot on the great profession of doctors. But I still believe the ultimate culprits are the parents. From socio- economically backward UP and Bihar to heavenly rated state for women Mahashtra everywhere female infanticide is being practised more or less. To completely eradicate this problem we should try to change psyche about a female child because as per Hindu Mythology a female child is considered as an avatar of goddess Lakshmi. The female Infanticide Act should be ammended. This crime should be treated as rarest of rare manner under Article 302. Those doctors doing Gender Determination sonography tests or abortions should decline themselves from committing such sins.

Before I conclude I just, hope, believe and pray after this blog people will show the same amount of grief against female infanticide which they show during the other heinous crimes against women.
